GENERAL RULES

All athletes, coaches, and officials must be registered/certified with USA Boxing to participate in this event. Athletes, coaches, and officials must present their passbook at the weigh-in.

NO BOOK – NO BOX – NO EXCEPTIONS

All participants are bound by USA Boxing’s rules and regulations, Golden Gloves of America’s rules and regulations, and USA Boxing and Golden Gloves Codes of Conduct. Failure to comply with rules and regulations will result in denial of participation. 

TOURNAMENT RULES

This is Team South Carolina’s selection tournament. Winners of the Elite Open tournament are selected to represent Team South Carolina at the Southeast Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions. Therefore, this tournament is for South Carolina residents, South Carolina students, or military personnel stationed in South Carolina. 

Male and female tournament winners between the ages of 18 and 40 in the Elite Open tournament will advance to the Southeast Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions. Novice boxers do not advance.

AGE

All boxers must be 18 years old to enter the tournament.

Elite Golden Gloves: 18-40 years old

Masters Golden Gloves: 35+ years old. If you are 35-40 years old, you must select either Elite or Masters Golden Gloves—you cannot compete in both. Masters boxers must have a Masters Passbook from USA Boxing.

TOURNAMENT DIVISIONS

Novice: 0-10 bouts

Open: 11 bouts + 

Boxers with 5 bouts may declare Open, but the boxer will not be able to box as a Novice in the future. The Southeast Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions is one of the most competitive regional tournaments in the country. We urge caution with turning inexperienced boxers Open.
